GreatMountain Lily Litter We hope you'll enjoy the weekly photos of
the pups. |
Welcome to the World! On June 8th, Hurricane Lily Blossom whelped eight beautiful puppies - 7 girls and 1 boy! The proud papa of this purebred litter is Boreayl Louie. The pups are all named after lilies in honor of their mom! Unfortunately, one of the puppies failed at birth and was ethanized. The rest are vigorous and doing well. While it's hard to lose one of the babies, we try to remember that in the wild, less than half the puppies would survive. While this litter carries our kennel name, the pups were not born at our house. Lily lives nearby with our friends Bonnie & Mike and they are raising the litter...that is until their own bundle of joy arrives. At that point, the pups will move to our house for the remainder of their puppyhood. We are working in partnership with Bonnie & Mike on rearing the litter every step of the way. All of the pups have gone to their new homes. If you're interested in a pup from a future litter, please email chinooks@roadrunner.com for an application. |

Going Home The puppies had the biggest week of their lives last week. First they headed to the vet to get poked and prodded (and played with by all of the vet staff!) They were great at the vet - not one whimper or cry during the evaluation! They all got a clean bill of health with clear hearts and eyes and sound joints. As soon as the pups were back from the vets, local owners started snatching puppies for quick home visits. Trout/Tily was the first to go on a home visit with Peace/Echo following close behind her. Finally, the big day arrived, and the first set of owners started arriving one by one. We always have a puppy dinner at our house before pups head home so owners get a chance to meet one another, ask questions and to bond with their pups. We had a great dinner and then headed out for one last walk with all of the pups. Four pups headed home over the weekend, but three remained. We did Puppy Party Part Two on Tuesday night. The two local owners brought their pups back, so we have five siblings together again. Lily was also able to make an appearance at this puppy party and was so happy to see her babies again. Sadly, one of our owners got delayed due to bad weather and we had to bring the pup to her at the airport so she could catch a few hours sleep before heading back to Colorado. The pups have arrived safely to their new homes and are adjusting well. We are already receiving photos of them and can't wait to watch them grow! We hope you enjoyed the pupdates! |

We've had so much rain, we've been able to easily acclimate the pups to water

Crazy puppy walk!
