Katahdin is our first Chinook and the first reason that the breed won a prominent place in our hearts. She is smart, painfully loyal and the Alpha-dog in our pack. Katahdin loves to swim, hike, canoe and run. More than anything, though, she loves to be with her moms. |

Katahdin has been our spiritual leader through this adventure called the Chinook breed. She is wise beyond her species and years. Most of what we know about dogs we learned from her. She was our first dog to earn an obedience title and our first to take us sledding. She has gone everywhere with us and has been the leader of our pack for nearly a decade. Katahdin is far into her senior years now. She has retired from the team and has lost her position as alpha of the pack. As she has more and more trouble getting around, she has made the full-time transition to a house dog. She still enjoys long walks with the pack and is as smart and demanding as ever. We are enjoying what time we have left with her and know we will be forever thankful that this spectacular dog came into our lives. She is one special dog. |
